About the PHYS/Experiment (EXP) Subdivision

For many years, the ACS Physical Chemistry Division has included a PHYS Theory subdivision without an Experimental counterpart. To provide opportunities to feature exciting, cutting-edge experimental research in PHYS symposia, 2017 saw the establishment of the new EXP subdivision.

The Goals for the EXP subdivision are to:

  • Represent excellence in experimental physical chemistry and excite new and continuing members about science represented in PHYS;
  • Develop and maintain varied, relevant programming in experimental physical chemistry at national and regional ACS meetings;
  • Attract new ACS members into PHYS interested in experimental physical chemistry.

We encourage any and all scientists interested in state-of-art experimental physical chemistry to join EXP. There is no cost to join. EXP will provide opportunities to get involved in programming and awards for young and established scientists.
