POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH AWARDS

 

The PHYS Division plans to highlight leading research by postdoctoral fellows at the Fall National ACS meeting in Boston, through a series of special awards. Awardees will be invited to present an Award Talk in a PHYS symposium, and attend the PHYS executive dinner.  The postdoctoral nominee should also submit the usual contributed abstract to the PHYS program when on-line submission opens on January 25. Selections will be announced shortly after the Spring ACS meeting in March 2010.

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURES:

 

All interested applicants should submit an abstract either to one of the regular symposia.

 

The application should consist of

 

1) a letter of no more than one page from the applicant describing his or her research accomplishments and career goals. The letter should also contain a short description of the work that is to be presented as well as the ACS paper number of the submitted abstract, and 2 or more PHYS symposia in which the award talk can be presented.

 

2) A cv from the applicant

 

3) Two letters of support, one would normally come from the applicant's postdoctoral mentor. These letter should describe the applicant's contributions to leading research and his or her accomplishments to date.

 

APPLICATION DEADLINE:
